Dow

 After my mom had her implant removed she received an extension from the governor so that she could sue the manufacturers of her multiple failed implants.

Well the wife of one of the manufacturers CEO's (Dow Corning) sued because the silicone nodules made it painful for her to smoke a cigarette.

She received $25,000,000.

So we hoped for at least a million.

Page (one of the lawyers working for Ray Schulater) said that we had already won one of the suits for 5 million and that we were waiting for the judge to release the payment.

Then of course the corporations paid off the government so they could declare bankruptcy and not have to pay for their crimes.

So Schulater brow beat my mom into signing away her right to sue and to be placed in the bogus class action BS for 15 years.

At least that was my opinion when it happened.

More on this later.

Mom and I would walk downtown to Montour falls for recreation (because we couldn't afford gas for the car). It's about five miles away from where we rented our home.

On the way we would talk about what we planned to do with the money.

First we would pay for my nieces and nephew to go to college. I always hated how I had been cheated out of an education so that was a big priority of ours.

Next we wanted to start up a family corporation so that we could pay my sister and brother and their spouses $500 a month. We also planned on expanding this to mom's grand kids and their families.

Making me sad thinking about this so I'm going to bed.

OK, so big dreams.

So our lawyer comes to us and want's mom and I to fill out the claims form for the settlement.

Our huge folder suddenly becomes about 20 papers at the law office.

So we go through each of the items on the list and it ends up being $250000.

Our lawyer gets all bent out of shape and starts brow beating us as to what we can prove.

Remember these guy's had complete access to all of moms records.

So they try to say we are eligible for only $5000 because there is no evidence of any of the other things that we put on the claims form.

No medical records at all they say.

So I get my folder out with copies of every items medical record.

The lawyer goes into a panic and runs to a nearby office and closes the door.

After about 20 minutes she comes back in and say's that it looks like we have enough paperwork to prove almost all of the claim except the last implant leaking.

There's no proof that it leaked.

I shock her to her bones by telling her that Dr. Moody (one of their clients and the reconstructive surgeon who removed it from my mom) has it in a freezer at the hospital. Dr. Moody said that we may need it in court so she saved it for us.

It was like we set off a bomb in that office everyone was running around and she disappeared into the closed office again.

I could her a male voice who was very angry shouting at someone saying "What, you said they got rid of that!"

So they said that they would file the form and that it looked like we were in the $250000 to $1000000 part of the settlement.

So for the next 10 years they kept stonewalling us as to what was going on with the case.

Finally when it was announced that the class action was coming to and end we received a call to come over to the office.

The lawyer(whom I've never seen before) gave my mom a check for the lowest tier of the settlement(the one the lawyers tried to push on us 10 years earlier). So after 15 years of suffering my mom got a whopping $3000 check. 

When I asked about the claim paper we made out for $250000 the lawyer laughed at us and said that we should be happy with that because we were not even eligible for the settlement in the first place.

He went on to say that they didn't even have the right to represent us in the settlement.

So I asked him, "So you have been lying to my mom all these years? You where not representing her?"

He replied that, "I doubt that any of the records you need are still around.", "So what can you do?"

Sometimes I wish I was a violent person.

Before my eye's started giving me trouble, I used to be able to drop a bullet in the bullseye at 200 yards with a 22. 

Being non-violent sucks.

These people cheated my mom on purpose and she deserves revenge.

Shulter's daughter killed herself. Kind of round about revenge. I hope he thinks of us every time he thinks of her.

No I don't. I'm sorry for his loss.

Karma's a bitch.

My dad worked for my uncle John Leonard of Leonard's Truck line here in Watkins Glen on 2nd street. One day when my dad and uncle John were coning home after delivering freight. Blue

 Blue was my best friend when I was 12. He was a weimaraner. He was shot and I operated on him to remove the bullet. His jaw was broken and I nursed him back to health. He would come look for me at school when he got loose. He protected me while I slept. No one could attack me while he was with me. So naturally he had to go. My family gave him away. We went to family concealing for a couple of days after the bloody sneakers affair. Three times. Each time the councilor allowed my family to blame (transfer) all of the family problems to Tim's dog. She was like sunshine to me. I felt alive when I was with her! I felt that maybe there is a god. And maybe he doesn’t hate me. I thought she was the one who would save me! I won’t tell how we rode home from the auction. How I, for the second and last time in my life got to second base.
