My schedule

9 pm put mom to bed. Then put her to bed again. Try to sleep some.

11 pm check to make sure she is still in bed.

1 am change mom's depends, redress her in clean clothes, wash her dirty sheets and/or blankets and clothes, make her bed and put her back to bed.

3 am put mom back in bed.

5 am check on mom re dress her and put her back in bed.

7 am get up for the day. Feed the dog and cats.

8 am Rick may fix her breakfast when he fixes his own.

 10 am change mom's depends and put clean clothes on her, check her bedding and do the first of several washes, wash the dishes.

11 am tues/wens Mom's physical therapy (Rick will was the dishes if the therapist is here).

12 pm try to clean at least a little (no help from Rick because its woman's work) Help mom wash.

1 pm meals on wheels feeds Mom and Rick. Eat a sandwich if I can.

2 pm check the mail help mom change her depends and get dressed.

3 pm try to nap a little.

4 pm take care of the laundry.

5 pm if mom's napping use the computer.

6 pm watch the news with mom and probably change her depends and make her bed for the night.

7 pm Try to keep from falling asleep.

8 pm write if I can or relax.


My Brothers schedule:

Stay in his room all day and watch TV.

My dad worked for my uncle John Leonard of Leonard's Truck line here in Watkins Glen on 2nd street. One day when my dad and uncle John were coning home after delivering freight. They were driving south on 14 and were just about where the Seneca Harbor Station is coming down that s curve that leads to town. Suddenly Uncle John shifts all the way down jolting my father into the windshield.  "What the hell!", dad yelled. Uncle John turned to dad with a funny look on his face. Then handed dad the steering wheel. A forty foot trailer doesn't stop on a dime. With no breaks and no steering wheel the truck was grinding its gears following the road. My dad looked up from the steering wheel and uncle John was already out the drivers side door. "Jump you idiot!" And dad did! Just as the truck was grinding its self into the sidewalk! Blue

 Blue was my best friend when I was 12. He was a weimaraner. He was shot and I operated on him to remove the bullet. His jaw was broken and I nursed him back to health. He would come look for me at school when he got loose. He protected me while I slept. No one could attack me while he was with me. So naturally he had to go. My family gave him away. We went to family concealing for a couple of days after the bloody sneakers affair. Three times. Each time the councilor allowed my family to blame (transfer) all of the family problems to Tim's dog. After all a dog can't fight back (and it hurt me) so a win, win, situation. Because he needed to be let out to use the bathroom; my mom, dad, and brother fought. Because when he didn't get fed he knocked over the garbage can my father and brother drank to excess. Cathy

She was like sunshine to me. I felt alive when I was with her! I felt that maybe there is a god. And maybe he doesn’t hate me. I thought she was the one who would save me! I won’t tell how we rode home from the auction. How I, for the second and last time in my life got to second base. My impossible dream with Cathy: I wanted to be with her, have a nice house and car, a boat and 2 children,a boy and a girl. I wanted to spend my life with her growing old together and in time leaving this world with her by my side. I wanted to give her all of my love and spoil her with everything I could possibly give her. A nice but impossible dream because she did not want me. The pieces of my heart are like the stars in the sky, to many to count, and too far away to put back together. All I have is a picture that she gave uncle Bob.
